Great features and overall performance, putting competing SLRs in the prosumer class to shame. Image noise is a bit higher than the competition, but hardly noticeable on print due to the massive resolution.
The AF is the best in its class, and it can constantly track subjects even while firing away at 12 frames a second!
So far quite pleased with the electronic viewfinder, which is crisp and responsive, although could be brighter in strong sunlight.

Based on the legendary Minolta G-series design, this is a fast an amazingly sharp (if not the sharpest!) telephoto lens. When paired with the A77, the SSM focusing system locks-on to targets with great speed and accuracy.
The only downside is that for some strange reason it is not weather sealed...

Light, solid and reasonably compact. Excellent value when compared to similar offerings from Manfrotto.

Nice and solid ball head, with adjustable friction and a separate release on the horizontal axis for panning in panorama shots.

The predecessor to my Sony 70-200. Mostly used as a backup/spare these days, or if I'm desperate for more range. Pretty amazing value for the money.

Used with a 72mm adapter ring to latch onto my Sony 16-50 kit lens when shooting landscapes.

Holds an additional battery for increased shooting time with the A77 (you're going to need it!). I also find the A77 more comfortable to hold with the vertical grip attached.

Great bag for carrying all my photography gear and laptop around when needed. Sadly it's no longer on sale.

A great little flash for the occasional indoor shooting, or for lighting up the foreground on some night shots

No self-respecting photographer can go without one of these! It's compact, so you have no excuse for leaving it at home.
I actually have the old Minolta version of this, but the differences are only cosmetic.

A great alternative for carrying a full-size tripod with you all the time. It can hold an SLR with a standard zoom lens, but you'd be pushing your luck using it with a larger tele lens. Oh, and it can even be attached to poles or railings, so you don't always need a flat surface!

The fastest SD card currently on the market, to keep up with the 12 fps bursts coming out of the Sony A77 at 24MP.
